Weather-resistant adhesive, structural adhesive and sealant are all adhesives, which are widely used in the construction, decoration and other industries, but they are different in performance and use:
Different performance characteristics
1. Weather-resistant adhesive: single component, neutral curing, specially designed for various curtain wall weather-resistant sealing, with excellent weather resistance, after artificial accelerated climate aging test, various physical and chemical properties have no obvious changes. The displacement capacity reaches 20 levels, and the normal expansion and shear deformation of the curtain wall can maintain the performance unchanged, and play an effective sealing role; it also has the advantages of aging resistance, UV resistance, ozone resistance, water resistance, high and low temperature resistance, etc. After curing, it will not become brittle, harden or crack at a low temperature of -30℃, and will not soften or degrade at a high temperature of +90℃, and always maintain good elasticity. In addition, it is non-corrosive to building materials such as metal, coated glass, concrete, marble, granite, etc., and has excellent adhesion. After curing, it forms a strong bond with most building materials without the need for primer, and has good compatibility with other neutral silicone adhesives.
2. Structural adhesive: high strength (compression strength> 65mpa, steel-steel positive tensile bonding strength> 30mpa, shear strength> 18mpa), can withstand large loads, and is resistant to aging, fatigue, and corrosion, with stable performance within the expected life. After curing, it has high modulus performance and can carry the interface's ±25% telescopic displacement capacity. It has excellent bonding properties, does not require primer, and can form a strong bond with most building materials.
3. Sealant: Usually made of dry or non-dry viscous materials such as asphalt, natural resin or synthetic resin, natural rubber or synthetic rubber, etc., combined with inert fillers such as talcum powder, white clay, carbon black, titanium dioxide and asbestos, and then added with plasticizers, solvents, curing agents, accelerators, etc. It has the functions of anti-leakage, waterproof, anti-vibration, sound insulation, heat insulation, etc. It can prevent gas, liquid, solid from penetrating, and prevent structural materials from being destroyed when the structure is displaced, thereby playing the role of heat preservation, sound insulation, waterproof, dustproof, gas proof, fireproof, corrosion-resistant, shock absorption and preventing the accumulation of foreign matter in the joints.
