1. Concept Analysis of Ethyl Silicone Fluid
Ethyl silicone fluid is a silicone polymer with a silicon-oxygen bond as the main chain and ethyl as the side group. Its general chemical formula is C₄n+₁₂H₃₀+₁₀nSiₙ+₂Oₙ+₁. Its molecular structure gives it unique physical and chemical properties, making it a representative of silicone materials with both lubricity and functionality. As an important branch of the silicone oil family, ethyl silicone oil is prepared by Grinia reagent catalysis or direct hydrolysis condensation. Through molecular rearrangement and vacuum fractionation technology, products of different viscosity grades can be obtained. The viscosity range covers 8-160,000 mm²/s (20℃), meeting the diverse needs from precision instrument lubrication to industrial demolding.

2. Core characteristics of ethyl silicone oil
Wide temperature range stability
The operating temperature range of ethyl silicone oil is -70℃ to 150℃, the solidification point is lower than -70℃, and the flash point is higher than 265℃. It can maintain stable performance in extreme temperature environments. Compared with dimethyl silicone oil, its low temperature performance is improved by more than 20℃, which is suitable for low temperature scenes such as polar equipment, aerospace, etc.
Low volatility and low surface tension
It has extremely low volatility, and the vapor pressure is lower than 1×10⁻⁴ Pa (25℃), and it can be used for a long time without volatile loss. The surface tension is as low as 21-22 mN/m, making it an ideal release agent. It can effectively prevent the product from adhering to the mold during the rubber and plastic molding process and improve the yield rate.
Excellent lubricity and compatibility
The friction coefficient is as low as 0.01-0.1, and the lubrication performance is better than most mineral oils. It can be mixed with petroleum products in any proportion to form a composite lubrication system. In hydraulic systems, its compression resistance is 30% higher than that of traditional hydraulic oils, and it is known as a "liquid spring".
Aging resistance and environmental protection
After 1000 hours of accelerated aging test (150℃), the viscosity change rate is less than 5%, and the service life is more than 10 years. It is non-toxic and non-corrosive, with a pH value of 5-7, in line with RoHS environmental protection standards, and is widely used in food machinery, medical equipment and other fields.
Functional customizability
By adjusting the number of ethyl side groups and molecular weight distribution, products with different viscosities, dielectric constants (2.5-3.2) and refractive indices (1.40-1.42) can be obtained to meet the needs of high-end scenarios such as electrical insulation and optical instruments.
