Block-Modified Silicone Softeners: Structural Optimization Achieves Breakthrough Performance
Block-modified silicone oils utilize molecular design to introduce reactive groups such as polyether and amino groups into the polysiloxane backbone, forming a block structure that significantly enhances yellowing resistance. A typical product, such as SOFTEX S-356, an ultra-soft silicone softener for chemical fibers, utilizes block silicone crude emulsion technology to optimize the distribution ratio of polyether and amino groups, reducing the yellowing index by over 60% compared to traditional amino silicone oils. It also exhibits excellent heat stability, achieving a 92% fabric whiteness retention rate after 30 minutes of baking at 180°C. It also contains no harmful substances such as APEO, making it suitable for high-quality softening of chemical fiber fabrics.

Low-Yellowing Polyether-Modified Type: Dual Protection of Hydrophilicity and Anti-Yellowing
Polyether-modified silicone fluids utilize polyoxyethylene (PEO) or polyoxypropylene (PPO) segments grafted onto the siloxane backbone, maintaining the silicone's inherent softness while mitigating amino oxidation through the shielding effect of the hydrophilic groups. Experimental data shows that low-yellowing hydrophilic silicone softeners synthesized via bulk polymerization, incorporating polyether and imino groups into the hydrogen-terminated silicone backbone, improve the fabric yellowing rating (ISO 105-B02) by 2-3 levels after baking at 160°C compared to conventional amino silicone fluids. Furthermore, hydrophilicity (drip-spreading time) is reduced to less than 2 seconds, making them suitable for applications such as athletic fabrics where both functionality and aesthetic stability are crucial.

Non-ionic Silicone Softeners: A Stable Choice Without Yellowing Risk
Non-ionic silicone softeners eliminate easily oxidizable groups, such as amino groups, to eliminate yellowing at the root. For example, SILYOUSOFT T872 non-ionic silicone softener utilizes epoxy group modification technology to form stable chemical bonds on the fiber surface. Treated fabrics retain their initial whiteness even after 12 months of storage and can be used in the same bath with water repellents without compromising the water-repellent effect. This product is particularly suitable for the long-term storage of white or light-colored fabrics, as well as for infant and toddler textiles that require frequent washing.
