I. Polyether-Modified Amino Silicone Oil: Dual Optimization of Hydrophilicity and Anti-Yellowing Properties
Polyether-modified amino silicone oil significantly improves the anti-yellowing performance of fabrics by introducing polyether groups into the side chains of amino silicone oil molecules. Traditional amino silicone oils are prone to oxidation due to the easily oxidized amino groups, which form chromophores under high temperature or ultraviolet irradiation, leading to fabric yellowing. The introduction of polyether groups not only enhances the hydrophilicity of the molecular chain, giving the fabric antistatic and easy-to-clean properties, but also inhibits the amino oxidation reaction through steric hindrance. For example, a certain brand of low-yellowing amino micro-silicone emulsion uses linear block copolymerization technology to combine polyether segments with amino silicone oil molecules, enabling the treated fabric to maintain stable whiteness even after baking at 180°C. The whiteness loss rate is reduced by more than 40% compared to traditional products, and it is widely used in the softening treatment of high-end fabrics such as wool and cashmere.

II. Epoxy/Amide-Modified Silicone Oil: Structural Innovation Breaks Through the Yellowing Bottleneck
Epoxy or amide-modified silicone oils optimize the molecular structure through chemical bonding, fundamentally reducing the risk of yellowing. Epoxy groups can undergo cross-linking reactions with hydroxyl and amino groups on the fiber surface, forming stable chemical bonds and reducing the probability of amino group exposure; amide modification replaces some easily oxidized amino groups with more heat-resistant amide bonds. For example, a new type of epoxy-modified silicone oil, when used in cotton fabric finishing, controls the molar ratio of epoxy groups to amino groups, resulting in a yellowing grade (Δb* value) of only 0.8 after treatment at 150°C for 3 minutes, which is far lower than the 3.2 of traditional amino silicone oil.  It also maintains excellent softness and wrinkle resistance, making it suitable for applications with extremely high color fastness requirements, such as infant clothing and medical textiles.
