Analysis of the Environmental Characteristics of Block Silicone Oil

Hits: 328 img

I. Green Attributes in Raw Materials and Production Processes
The core raw material of block silicone oil is siloxane, and its production process achieves precise control through molecular design, significantly reducing the residue of harmful substances. Taking ternary copolymer block silicone oil as an example, its synthesis employs advanced processes such as solution polymerization and interfacial polymerization, avoiding harmful substances such as APEO (alkylphenol ethoxylates) and NPEO (nonylphenol ethoxylates) that may be produced in the production of traditional amino silicone oil. For example, cotton-specific block silicone oil WF-6508, by introducing polyether groups, not only enhances its self-emulsifying ability but also achieves a solvent-free formula, reducing volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions at the source.

II. Environmental Advantages of Product Performance
Block silicone oil demonstrates outstanding environmental compatibility in its applications. The amino groups in its molecular structure form stable anchors with the functional groups on the fiber surface. The resulting film reduces the friction coefficient of the fibers, giving the fabric softness and wrinkle resistance while significantly improving washability. Experimental data shows that polyester fabrics treated with block silicone oil retain more than 90% of their softness after 50 washes, while fabrics treated with traditional amino silicone oil only maintain 60%, thus reducing resource consumption and wastewater discharge caused by frequent washing. In addition, block silicone oil, such as the LH-1088 model, has extremely low yellowing characteristics, preventing white fabrics from yellowing due to oxidation and extending the product's lifespan.

III. Environmental Contributions in Application Fields
In the textile printing and dyeing industry, block silicone oil has replaced some traditional softeners, becoming a benchmark for green production. Its self-emulsifying properties eliminate the need for additional emulsifiers, avoiding the pollution of water bodies by emulsifier residues. In the cosmetics field, block silicone oil, as a functional additive, is widely used in sunscreens, conditioners, and other products due to its non-irritating nature and strong chemical stability, reducing the risk of skin allergies. In the industrial field, block silicone oil, as a coating anti-sticking agent and mechanical lubricant, can reduce equipment energy consumption and wear, indirectly reducing carbon emissions.
